Eritreans on the Bay-Area gathered to celebrate Easter 2005 in the Eritrean Orthodox Church of Oakland. The celebration started at 6:00 PM on Saturday Apr.30^th, 2005and went on tile mid night. The Eritrean youth of the church Sunday school perform their spiritual songs, singing with grace in their hearts to the Lord. At 11:30 PM Candlelight lit, by 11:45 PM the church was packed with members.

Just before mid-night Keshi Dibbe Kulu remanded us by saying “The mortgage of this church has been paid off, but we need a bigger, better and in a better area, in order to do that, I encourage each and every one of you to get involved and contribute to the church so that we will be able to have a church that will accommodate us all”.

About 600 people, including members of the Eritrean Orthodox Church from surrounding cities such as San Francisco, Hayward etc. participated in the celebrations.
