Western US Eritrea Festival 2005 in Oakland, CA comes to a colorful ending.

Western US Eritrea Festival 2005 that has been going on in Oakland, CA from Aug.5 thru 7, 2005, came to a colorful ending on Sunday Aug. 7, 2005.

The three-day festival in Oakland featured seminars, cultural and sports programs as well as painting exhibitions that are aimed at the youth and children.

The main highlights of the Eritrean festival on Saturday had been soccer matches between the San Francisco Dahlak & the San Jose Werira, in which the San Francisco Dahlak won by 7 to 3. But on Sunday the winner was the San Jose Werira by the scor of 1 to 0 & became the trophy holder.

On Basket Ball among the 12 teams contests held among Eritrean youth Portland became the Shampiom ship trophy winner.

Eritrean Student of UC Davis presented, “welcoming environment, for Eritrean students & friends where all can collaborate methods for academic, cultural and social advancement.

They also presented Video / Film presentation of successful eritreans, highlighting the hard work they put into reaching success--.

The high commissioner Peoples' Front for Democracy and Justice, Mr. Yemane Ghebreab & the Eritrean Embassy for US Mr. Girma Asmoron where present in the seminar. Mr. Yemane briefed Eritreans youth & students on the objective situation in the country.

Track & Field Competition

On the 3 days Sport Field activities, Eritrean youths and parents carried out an instructive discussion that focused on raising youngsters in accordance to their country's cultural values. And "Parents role in carrying for their children", participants concluded that Eritrean youth should be properly raised fine-tuned with constructive education and Eritrea’s cultural values.
