When Streams Of Water Will Start To Flow
Upwards

Unless the
woyane are up to their old tricks, looking for pretexts to cover up for their
inadequacies, failures and internal problems, there is no reason under the sun,
why they would want to falsely attack Eritrea yet again. Following the same logic, knowing what the
whole world has already witnessed, there
is also no reason whatsoever for the UN security council or the secretary
general to feign ignorance and
disingenuously ask them to refrain from such an act, as though they believed
there was reason for them to do so.
There
is no sense in the woyane assuring anyone about their abstinence from
belligerence while they are still
occupying undisputed Eritrean territory, in addition to Badme, and while
they continue to be an impediment to
the border demarcation process by
refusing to respect and abide by the rules of the agreement which they had
signed in the presence of supposedly distinguished and reliable witnesses and guarantors, who since have turned out
to be anything but, and who in turn have long abandoned their commitment and
responsibilities, and instead are
inciting trouble at the drumbeat of their respective news media.
It was believed that the western powers, and
in particular the United States, were interested in warding off terrorism from around the Horn of Africa. But from
their non-chalant behavior toward the
Ethiopia/Eritrean unrest, one can safely say that they have a strange way of
showing it, especially the way they seem to be inciting and encouraging trouble
instead of defusing it by the means which were lawfully in their power, but
which they, for some reason, are
unwilling to exert.
With
all the atrocities that they have committed, and having gotten away with
impunity in breaking the law time and again, and after having become the main culprit
to cause the long delay in the
demarcation process of the borders, thus denying tens of thousands of Eritreans
from claiming their land, it is only befitting that the woyane, in absolute
guilt and fear, should watch their backs and forever stand in a defensive mode, as is true of all felons
and outlaws. Their disingenuous statements that they will not fire the first bullet,
or that they would not be pushed into war by provocations, might work to fool
their naïve handlers and benefactors, but not the intelligent world citizens,
and certainly not Eritreans. Who would ever again trust or believe soulless
humanoids such as they are? It is when
confronted with such bizarre hypocritical situations that Eritreans would use
an old saying inherited from the wise forefathers, which states: (mediocre
translation ) “In an era of topsy-turvy, water will start to flow upwards”
Indeed,
as farfetched as the case of the upward
flowing water might seem, yet, as far as the reasoning and suggestions coming out
from the western powers is concerned, it looks like we are living in an era of topsy-turvy
thinking, where a once trusted witnesses and guarantors of a legally signed peace treaty end up abandoning their
commitment only to fall into the business of giving misguided advice to the
delinquent party on how to beat and break the law by coming up with gimmicks
such as a “five point plan” and, after having first defied and declared the final
and binding EEBC verdict as illegal, to come back to say that they now accept it
“ in principle,” whatever that is supposed to mean, all along the emphasis leading to mean asking for a “dialogue” but
apparently not a dialogue set up by the Commission. Oh what a web we weave……..
When I
was a very little girl, one of the few memories
I have is of a jar filled with a
mixture of different herbs, the main ingredients that stood out being honey,
ginger and garlic, sitting on a top shelf, and whenever we complained of not feeling
too well, no matter what the ailment, a
teaspoon full of it would be shoved down our throats. I was reminded of this when I realized that,
no matter what the problem, the western
nations seem to think that “dialogue” was
the remedy and solution to every African dispute. Dialogue for rigged elections, and dialogue for mass murders; dialogue for lawlessness, intransigence
and breach of contract, and dialogue for illegal land occupation. When it comes to Africa, they seem to forget
that there is such a thing as the law. And that is why, African problems never
get solved through the intervention of the United Nations. Similarly, unless they have sinister motives,
there should be no reason why they would
come up with different solutions when there already exist, clearly spelled out
and enumerated, rules and regulations to be followed in the peace agreement which was signed in Algiers, or, short of that, they could also revert to
the laws contained in the United Nations’ Charter, which would have solved the problem much faster, at lease in the case
of the border demarcation issue which exists between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Besides,
what does one talk about with unprincipled
and untrustworthy cheats and liars, anyway? When one’s property, legal rights and sovereignty have been stolen, invaded and violated,
except to demand its reversal, what else is there to talk about? These are not
negotiable matters. Dialogue might have
come in handy eight years ago, before the destructive war was unleashed on
Eritrea under a false pretext. At that
time, there might have been plenty to talk about! Where, pray tell, were
these wise western nations at the time when the Eritrean President was pleading
to talk to the woyane leader, so that war could be averted? But as things stand today, after almost
twenty thousand precious lives have been needlessly sacrificed, thousands more
disabled and millions of hearts broken, in addition to the tens of thousands of
Eritreans still internally displaced
because their land still remains to be illegally occupied, there is nothing to
talk about except to demand the return
of one’s rights, which should not have been difficult to attain had we been
fortunate enough to have had principled
and honourable witnesses and guarantors to the peace agreement which was signed
in Algiers.
So it
is high time for the UN secretary general to slow down and stop all his theatrics, and for the security
council to stop acting like little Gods as though the destiny of the world all
lay in their hands, as they abuse the mandate which they were entrusted, to
uphold the rule of law without prejudice, and not to use it for their
particular nations’ interests, but to start acting responsibly according to the
charter of the United Nations, which, if done properly according to the books, would
undoubtedly solve all our problems immediately, and as soon as demarcation is
completed, the peacekeepers could go home without Eritrea having to lift any
restrictions she has had to put on their movements, and the United Nations would
be able to save the yearly 189 million which they have been threatening us
with. It is as simple as that, and that
is all there is to it!
Otherwise,
all the nonsensical talk of dialogue, envoys and athletes intervention is very
silly and unnecessary, if not an insult to the intelligence of both nations. We
are not children, and the western nations would do well not to treat us as
such. They should only do what the law demands of them, and leave the rest at
the discretion of the people of both nations, as they should be in a much
better position to know what is best for them, rather than the arrogant
ambassadors or journalists of foreign countries, who misguidedly think it is
their prerogative to interfere in the internal matters of small nascent
nations. It is amazing how, otherwise
insignificant individual people, have made a name for themselves at the expense
of Eritrea.
As for
the latest UN resolution 1640, thanks to Sharon of Israel and Zenawi the
woyane, we have come to learn that the more one ignores UN resolutions, and
does not play by the rules, the more
one gets rewarded for it. How difficult
can that be to follow? After all, are we not living in an era where water will
start to flow upwards?
On that
note, happy holidays season to everyone!
With
truth as her only weapon, despite it all, Eritrea will always prevail.
