Eritreans in the UK hold memorial service

Hundreds of Eritreans in the UK attended memorial
service for HE Ali Said Abdela on 1st of September
2005. The service started at 7.00 pm, and continued
throughout the evening. Poems that reflect the
dedication and heroism of Mr Ali were read.

The condolence book that was opened on Monday has been
signed by over 1200 Eritreans. Diplomats from
different countries including officials from UK
foreign office, other European countries and Latin
America also visited the Embassy and signed the book.
The memorial service was opened by the Eritrean
Ambassador to the UK, Mr Negasi Sengal and a senior
Eritrean government official  HE Niazgi Kflu was also
present.

This occasion was also used to  reaffirm  Eritreans’
commitment to boost their participation in the
on-going effort to build the country and look after
the families of martyrs.
Our thoughts are with the family of Ali Said Abdela.
