No one believes a liar even when he or she is telling the truth.

In a letter written to the Ayatolla of Iran, a certain Gabriel Ash writes:

“Treaties are only as good as the credibility of the countries that sign them

How very true! Is it not  the lack of credibility demonstrated by the witnesses cum guarantors, and of course the intransigent  woyane, who together with Eritrea were signatories to a peace agreement which stipulated that, which ever way  the international court ruled, both parties would accept it as  final and binding, and that the implementation of physical demarcation of  the border that exists between the two countries would commence immediately after, that has  turned into what they are now calling a stalemate or impasse?  After having agreed that the outcome of the international court  would be final and binding,  when lady justice came through tilting toward the Eritrean case, they chickened out and have ever since been attacking Eritrea from left, right and center, just to avoid having to face the truth, as real and courageous men should?  Indeed, treaties are only as good as the honor and credibility of the countries that sign them.

Could the secret behind the truth then lie in the following phrase?

“peace process essentially means war, a war in which the sponsors of the process choose the winner before the meeting they call take place. They then pretend to be neutral during negotiations. Having bought time, they tighten the noose on the designated loser and prepare the ground to install a government that is totally subject to their will.” (B. Philpot)

Well, how much more succinct can one get? Is that not, in hindsight, what the 1998-2000 war was all about with all the false mediators aimlessly running about pretending to care about peace while all they were doing was lighting a match on the tinder? Could those who had composed the agreement as well as who signed it along with the two main parties, as guarantors for its implementation, have known all along that if their designated winner lost they would breach the trust that Eritrea had put on them?

No wonder the fabricated rumors and drum beats of wars which we have been hearing since the past  four or five years, until even as recent as the past few weeks when they were trying to implicate and involve Eritrea  in the Somali situation,  with their colorful and tantalizing headlines which went like: “Eritrea, Ethiopia’s archest enemy” or “My enemy’s enemy is my friend” and such cheap shots to cover up their own evil intentions. When it comes to their interpretation of the peace agreement to which they were as well guarantors, and not only witnesses, as they claim, because with their signatures they had promised to take punitive action on anyone from either party who deviated from what was  agreed upon in the agreement, a mandate which would not be given to mere witnesses – which today they claim only to have been. That, of course is one of their deceptive ways.

The fact that the western community and especially America has lost its credibility around the world is demonstrated by the way they tend to bend over backwards to prove anything these days. For instance, in the case where they had actually found and killed Abu Musab Al-Zarqaw,  the leader of the insurgents in Iraq, they posted and displayed his ‘before and after death’ pictures, and although they had satisfied themselves, through finger prints and known scars, they still felt it necessary to  further send, to the USA,  samples of his body for further DNA identification,  just to prove to the world that they were  telling the truth and could be trusted, this time around, after all the fabricated stories that they had been feeding the world community.

We never really did find out in what  particular way Saddam Hussein posed danger to the United States or to the United Kingdom,  we did hear fascinating fabricated stories such as the false eye witness they produced before their congress, to testify the snatching of babies from incubators by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait, before invading him in the early nineties, when later it  was discovered that the witness was actually the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the USA, who was never in or near the hospital at the time.

Again, over a decade later, there was the case of Uranium from Niger which they claimed Saddam Hussein had purchased, a lie which they tried to coerce and intimidate the president of Niger to join them in, which he refused to do.

United States  warned Niger:

Quoting senior Niger government officials, The Sunday Telegraph said “Herman Cohen, a former US assistant secretary of state for Africa, called on President Tandja in the capital Niamey last week to relay the message from Washington”

The response from Niger was:

“Against our wishes our country has been front-page news over an affair of the sale of uranium from Niger to Iraq: this affair is nothing else than an accusation without foundation,"

                        President of Niger Mamadou Tanja

As a result of having spoken the truth, the food aid which had been coming into Niger was almost halted or started to arrive at a snail’s pace.

Another related story to the Uranium was regarding Joseph C. Wilson, an ex ambassador to Niger and husband of Valerie Wilson, a CIA operative, who went over to Niger to clarify, and came back with no evidence of Saddam having bought any Uranium from Niger. He too got a taste of the rage of the state department.  As a punishment they exposed his wife’s covert identity to the world, thus putting her in harm’s way. At least, unlike for their other dangerous intrigues and crimes, her case is currently in the hands of the courts.

And last, but not least, the charade played out at the United Nations with Colin Powel showing false pictures to prove that Saddam Hussein had WMDs.  Plus, after the invasion, the little fictitious drama they played along with the media, about American soldiers gallantly rescuing an allegedly kidnapped  female soldier from the hands of insurgents, while all along she was safe in a hospital.  Now who would ever believe or trust such blatant liars and relentless wolf criers?

Just recently as the Americans and their Ethiopian puppets were clandestinely preparing to attack Somalia, as a cover up, they were crying wolf about plane loads of ammunition, money and even gold, coming from Eritrea and landing in Mogadishu; they also howled about thousands of Eritrean soldiers coming over to, by proxy, fight the woyane on foreign land, while all along they denied their own presence there. This, of course, is their own twisted way of thinking;  they do not know that, in this world, unlike them, there are normal self respecting nations who would not fight under pretexts – that is only the works of deceptive and cowardly people.

So who is going to believe Sally Healy and Martin Plaut

who  jointly wrote more lies  titled “Ethiopia and Eritrea: Allergic to Persuasion?” I have not read it because I did not think it merited my precious time or anyone else’s,  since I was not going to dignify it with a response anyway. Thankfully some other articulate patriots have read and given their comments, through which the rest of us were able to recognize their usual disingenuousness. And then, of course, we have the relentless jumbler, Dr. Jendayi Frazer, US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs and  student of the master of all liars, the woyane leader, who parrots all his habitual lies.

Have these people no shame? Do they really think they can fool all of the people, all of the time? Have they forgotten that in this world of huge communication traffic, people have more choices and exposures to what really is going on around their world? In the midst of all this, who but a fool would want to deceive and lie?

We so often hear of  people being indicted for lying to this or another government body. What about the likes of the above  individuals and their likes  who continually lie to overthrow good governments for their own interest, and who by so doing create huge exodus and emigration of people, not to mention the misery of millions  brought about through civil wars that they create? What should be done with the people who cause this through their lies? Or should we just leave them alone to their freedom of speech and expression, even if it is all lies.

With truth as her only weapon, Eritrea will surely prevail.
