Why Mr. Delisi? Why?

Upon being received by Eritrea's foreign minister
Ali Said Abdella (may he rest in peace) in August of
2004 which would have been more than 6 years after the
brutal war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, you promised
that the border dispute will end based on the April
2002 peace treaty that took place in Algiers.

You came to Eritrea to build a stronger
relationship as an ambassador that represents the USA
as well as many of us who call America our adopted
homeland. You failed miserably and a clear indication
is your nasty letter that is being displayed all over
the Internet. I waited to write this just to see
reactions from Eritreans living in the diaspora and
the reactions clearly indicate that you are sour
grapes sir.

How dare you use reverse psychology on a people
that are aware of your desire to see a division
amongst them & the heart and soul of the nation the
Eritrean Govt.

A statement such as this,

"You should know that despite increasing government
violations of human rights, civil liberties, economic
freedom, and democratic principles, the Government of
the United States remains hopeful that one day the
Eritrean people will enjoy the rewards of their heroic
struggle for independence."

can only trigger hate and shows your disrespect to a
nation that has given you hospitality that you never
get anywhere else in this world. I am sure your
frustrations come from the fact that the Eritrean
Govt. is a no non sense govt. that will speak up for
the truth and maintains it's integrity about issues
affecting the region and the Eritrean nation based on
the failed policies of the United States.

Sir, As a person from Minnesota where thousands
of Somali's live you and your administration have
failed to speak up for those who are suffering from
human rights abuse and all the other things you have
said about the Eritrean people which is based on lie.
Instead of worrying about the Eritrean people who are
decent and are only asking for peace, you should speak
up for your native displaced people of Minnesota from
the Somali and Oromo region, by your ally the minority
Ethiopian regime.

Walking out in the middle of a speech at a
festival is something that upset many people but I
guess the truth hurts and now sir you have taken the
diplomatic channels between my land of origin and my
adopted homeland to a new level. VERY LOW! and many of
us are upset.

Last but not least, please keep your promise. It
has been more than 5 years since the peace agreements
where signed between the Minority regime in Addis and
the Eritrean Govt. and you promised our GREAT FOREIGN
MINISTER that a speedy demarcation would take place,
but we haven't seen anything yet. And now two years
later you are repeating a similar action when you say,

"I also want to take this occasion to reemphasize the
Government of the United States' commitment to the
implementation of the final and binding ruling of the
Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission."

The Eritrean people are suspicious once again
because you went on to add,

"No matter the assertions that appear in the press or
in government statements, the United States believes
that the ruling must be respected by both parties,
must be implemented fully and without conditions, and
that the parties must engage each other responsibly in
addressing the impact of demarcation on their
citizens."

I mean sir, the parties have already engaged and
infront of hundreds of people including the then
Secretary of State Madeline Albright the signing took
place. All that is left now is to ask the Minority
Govt in Ethiopia to DEMARCATE. While you are at it for
the sake of the many thousands of Oromo and Somali
citizens living in your home state, tell the regime in
Addis to stop the brutal acts of humanity.

I also suspect that you will continue to do
injustice to the ever peaceful people & government of
Eritrea who respected you by bashing them alongside of
the handful few so called oppositions that don't
amount to anything in the eyes of the majority
Eritrean people.

Here is also a statement that bothered many Eritrean
Americans from the US embassy a couple of months ago,

"The Embassy of the United States of America has
encountered interruptions in our Diplomatic Pouch
service since January 22, that have impeded delivery
of required documents and articles required for our
operations. For this reason, the Embassy will be
closed until further notice to public services,
including visa issuances, beginning Wednesday,
February 14."

Sir, according to the Vienna conventions if a country
feels Diplomatic pouches are suspicious as a result of
national security it would ask to open it with the
blessing of the other nation but in this case the US
embassy declined, therefore you decided to suspend
other services not related to what underlying issues
were. Why? Mr.Delisi why?
