SUCCESSFUL SKI & SNOWBOARDING WEEKEND IN BOSTON!

The Girl's basketball team in Boston came together for a weekend in the
mountains. The young girls on this team have been practicing continuously
throughout this school year. Juggling school and other responsibilities
while remaining committed to their team has not been an easy task. As a reward
for  their hard work and a source of encouragement, the girls and volunteers
took advantage of the winter season to take on a trip to the Loon Mountain ski
resort.

Getting the girls to wake up at 5AM and carpooling to Boston in time to
check  in was the first task of the day. Next, the girls had to load the
equipment on  the bus along with other children who participate through this program.
Upon  reaching the resort, lessons were held for learning how to snowboard. And
Afterwards they were left on their own to challenge themselves on the
trails. After a long day of snowboarding, it was a quiet ride back to Boston. For
most  of them, it had been their second or third time taking on such a trip.

In Boston, this is an activity well known to the children of the community
and their parents. Reflecting on this experience, it was a success in a
way  that events like these will continue to encourage well-rounded children in
our  community. Certain responsibilities they were required to take care of
throughout the day taught the importance of following instruction and
teamwork. A fun day in the mountains was a learning experience for our
youth as well. As the winter season comes to an end and the year goes on, there
will  be other events for our community  to invest in.
