The Ethiopian offensive of 1978 was halted in Sahle and Barka regions thereby securing the base area.
Between 1978 and 1982 six major Ethiopian offensives were crashed.
In the end, the Eritrean determination emerged victorious over the Ethio-Soviet military might.
It was clear to the world that Eritrean revolution can not be defeated miltarily.
In 1983, the suspended educational and social activities once again started to sprout.
