The aid donor countries refused, for political reasons, to work
with the "rebellions" (liberation movement) to support the famine victims in
the liberated area.
Instead it asked the Ethiopian government to allow aid be transported to "rebel
held areas".
The Ethiopian government used food aid as a weapon and refused to provide a
safe passage.
Except few nongovernmental organizations, the world once again let the Eritreans
down.
