Queen Bee

I am one of thousands of Eritreans wishing the Eritrean Airlines a success. I am sure that this project will be one of those projects that every Eritrean will be proud of in the coming few years. This will include even those how are very skeptical to day. The Airline will play will be very positive and it will have its on dynamic effect on the over all economy given that the rest of the sectors that will benefit from its creation understands and take full advantage of it. Eritrea has all it takes to be a tourist magnet. We have coastline that extends to more than 1200Km and we have more than 300 Islands that can be paradise for those how are looking after place to relax. We are very near to Europe than Far Eastern Countries in Asia that have developed tourist industries and cashing millions of dollars every year from European and American tourists. What Eritrea needs is just to take advantage of its position and develop tourist industry.

Now that Eritrea has accessed to the world through its own carrier and the monopoly situation that have prevailed in Eritrea for the last ten years has come to its final end one should focus the service sector. What I mean by service sector in this particular case is sectors that have connection with tourist industries. What we should know her is that we have to provide an atmosphere that is comfortable for those how chose to have their vacation Eritrea. We have to have transport network in place. Hotels, Restaurants, recreation facilities etc. Historical cites has to be upgraded. Above all we should have professional working force that can provide those services.

The government of Eritrea is doing its best in the putting the corner stones in place. The infrastructure constriction in Eritrea is admirable. Those how are against any thing being constructed will be proved wrong very soon. The privet sector should be encouraged to focus in the long-term investment. The financial institutions have to play their roll by providing long-term credits to those investing in tourist industries. The investors should be given fair chance for smooth take off.

The benefit of having the control mechanisms in free market economy is very important. There isn’t economy in the world, which is free if not provided with competitive partners in the market. The creation of the Eritrean Air lines will prove this. Eritrea was an able to control the transportation price since independence because the luck of recourses. The government had priority of things that should come first and this situation lead to monopoly situation in air transport market. Thus Queen Bee will be curing tablet for the air transport market. The concept of creating the national carrier has to be that of multiple dimensions. The Eritrean Air lines should be seen as the main actor in tourism sector development process. The company should be able to market to the outside world our clean Sea costs, clean air, Fish, Flowers, Culture, Hospitality, you name it. Those are the commodities in the new global economy people in the richest part of the world are ready to pay to interact with other cultures and environments. People are even buying flight to space. I have full confidence in the professionals of our national carrier that they will succeed in making Eritrea’s tourist industry one of the sectors that will generate wealth and job opportunity for our brothers and sisters living in Eritrea the land we can do it.
